((This is still a work in progress, I'm refining. If anypony has any suggestions I'd love to hear them.))
Enigma
It's worth mentioning, this is not my Ponysona. I am certainly less obsessive and dark than this particular incarnation of the Enigma character.
Sex: Mare
Age: Adult, 32
Race: Unicorn
Mane & Tail: Pulled tight into a bun, both mane and tail. If it was out of the buns, it would be mid-length, cut straight across and blunt. She is a young(ish) pony, but her mane is steel grey shot through with white streaks.
Body Type: In terms of colouration, Enigma is fairly monochromatic- except for her eyes. While her body is silver and her hair is a steel grey with white streaks, her eyes are a deep, piercing violet. She is tall, but not excessively so.
Occupation: Doctor, more specifically, a psychologist.
Illnesses on Record: No illnesses... on record. She'd never get a job that way.
Personality:
Who is Enigma? Well, the first thing she would tell you about herself is that she's a psychologist studying behavioural patterns, aiming to revise her treatment methods through process of trial and error.
She's a pony who carries herself with an air somewhere between aloof and secretive- there's always a gleam in her eyes like she knows something you don't, and that makes her better than most others she comes across. In that sense it's really no surprise that she carries a clipboard or at least a notepad almost everywhere she goes.
She speaks cleanly and carefully, using as few a words as possible while remaining totally in control of the conversation. She likes to be in control... perhaps even a little too much, and she's constantly aware of maintaining her reputation. Control-freak would be a good way to describe most of how she handles things, actually- for a pony who loves to look as if she's above the fray, Enigma's personal life is hyper-organised. Everything has its place. And it should stay there.Or else. Everything has to be monitored and she can't leave anything unfinished. From her desk to her patients, she adores when things stay in their patterns, spots, or make progress in response to the stimulus she provides. As you may have guessed, there's a bit of a sinister vibe to this character.
With this aloofness and need to be in control, she's often subtly disrespectful to her superiors, maintaining an internal belief that in almost any situation, she knows best. Not blatantly rude- not near enough to warrant true retaliation, but enough to rankle ponies, rub them up the wrong way, as it were.
Also- she's really not a pony for running anywhere. She'll get there when she gets there- but with her micro-managing, she's probably going to be there before you anyway.
Special somepony? Don't make her laugh. The love of her life is her science- and she'll do anything for it. Truly. Though she's a psychologist, ponies may whisper that she's focusing more on the development of her treatment spells and the physical results than she is on the individual patient. She loves to know how ponies ended up as they are, what patterns from cause to effect led them to be who/what/how they are. Compiling data is pretty much her ideal past-time... and she tends to go to as far a lengths as she can get away with to obtain information about... well, anything, really. Specifically, she has one little spell... it's very useful in gleaning information from other ponies, but let's just say it's still being refined. She has too keep trialling new version in order to give the patient best results. Obviously.
History:
Enigma is a Trottingham local, born and bred. Even as an over-achieving filly, she loved school and tests and studying her environment, and especially patterns. Back then, she was full of a foal's boundless optimism, enthusiasm and altruism. She was generally friendly with most ponies, and loved to get to the bottom of disputes to help others. Foals started looking up to their smart classmate a little less, however, when they began to get their cutie marks and she did not. So accustomed was she to being top of the class that she started to get a little too comfortable there. She stopped sharing her work with other ponies, she ceased helping them. Especially in her later schooling, she became more introverted and her obsessive tendencies started manifesting in a need to have everything perfect. She knew that the only way she would have things exactly as she wanted was to work by herself- so that's what she did. She continues to maintain a preference for working alone even now. After graduating school and then completing her studies in Psychology and Chemistry with flying colours, she's worked for a few hospitals in the past- but the Asylum was her ambition for a long time.
After obtaining a position at the Asylum,
